Making Coaching Work: Sample District and School Models
Coaching can take many forms, depending on the needs and circumstances of each school. The models that follow are designed to provide schools and districts with options they may choose from as they define their own coaching programs.
The following models describe what roles and responsibilities a coach might be expected to adopt. They also outline the kinds of commitment of time and resources a school or district might expect to make if they want to make their coaching program a success.
Each of the models also includes a scenario so readers can get a sense of how coaches meet the needs of their fellow teachers.
